Teenage boy robbed at Kelvin Way as three suspects launch attack

A 16-year-old boy has been left ‘shaken’ after being assaulted and robbed in Glasgow's west end while out walking with his bike.

The incident happened at around 11.55pm on Thursday (November 18) when the teenager was walking along Kelvin Way.

He was subsequently assaulted and the thugs fled the scene in the direction of University Avenue with some items they had stolen from the teen.

The victim was left ‘shaken’ but did not require any medical treatment, confirmed police.

Police Scotland is now appealing for anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

The three suspects for the assault and robbery are described as:

  • Aged 14 and of Asian appearance. Around 5ft 2ins and of slim build with short, dark-coloured hair. He was wearing a blue padded jacket, black jogging trousers and trainers.
  • White, aged around 18 years, 6ft and of slim build with shoulder-length blond hair. He was wearing black jogging trousers, a black jacket with black and white Nike Air Force One trainers.
  • White, aged around 18 years, 6ft and of slim build with shoulder-length blond hair. He was wearing black jogging trousers, a black jacket with black and white Nike Air Force One trainers.

Constable Ross Miller from the Community Investigation Unit at Govan is appealing for information.

He said: “We have been gathering CCTV footage from in and around the local area and carrying out enquiries to identify the three men responsible for this robbery.

“I would urge any witnesses, or anyone with information to contact the Community Investigation Unit at Govan through 101 with reference 0007 of 19 November.

“Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
