Teenage boy knocked off electric scooter in crash with Audi A3 - a man has been arrested on suspicion of assault

A man has been arrested on suspicion of assault after a teenage boy was knocked off his electric scooter after crashing with an Audi.

The victim, aged 15, suffered a broken ankle after the crash in Bolton, but the consequences 'could have been fatal', police said.

The crash, involving a silver Audi A3, happened on Watson Road in Harper Green, Farnworth at. 1.50pm on Monday, April 1.

Detectives are now appealing for witnesses.

They are keen to speak to anyone who has dashcam footage of the incident.

A man, 24, has been arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault. He remains in custody for questioning.

Det Sgt Craig Wallace from GMP’s Bolton district said: “The consequences of this collision could potentially have been fatal.

“The victim and his family are understandably very shocked and we’d like to wish him well as he continues his recovery.

“We have arrested one person but our investigation does not stop here. We are appealing for witnesses or those with information or dashcam footage to contact us.

“Did you see the collision, or perhaps saw the scooter or car in the vicinity at the time? This occurred in daylight in a busy area, so we believe there may be a number of potential witnesses.”
