Teenage boy hospitalised with serious injuries after gang assault in Inchicore, Dublin

A young boy has been hospitalised with serious injuries following a vicious assault by a gang of youngsters in Dublin.

The shocking attack took place in Inchicore on Sunday evening when the 15-year-old teenager was jumped on by the gang.

He was rushed to Crumlin Children's Hospital where he is receiving treatment for his injuries today, Dublin Live reports.

The assault happened when the young lad, believed to be from Tallaght, was lured to the location by a young girl before jumped by the gang, the Irish Independent reports.

No arrests have been yet in the investigation yet, which is set to continue today.

A garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "Gardaí are investigating an assault incident that occurred in the Saint Vincent Street West area of Inchicore on 14/03/2021 at approximately 5pm.

"A male youth, aged 15 years, received serious injuries following an assault reportedly involving a group of youths. He was taken to Crumlin Children’s Hospital for treatment.

"No arrests have been made at this stage. Investigations are ongoing."
