Teenage boy fatally stabbed north of Brisbane

A crime scene has been declared, with police urging anyone with information or dash cam footage to contact them.

A 15-year-old boy has died in hospital after being stabbed in the chest during a fight in a car park at Redcliffe, north of Brisbane.

Police say the 15-year-old was walking along Anzac Avenue with his friends just after 8:00pm on Friday when they were accosted by several men.

The victim was then stabbed in the chest.

The teenager has been identified as Angus Beaumont, a student of nearby Redcliffe State High School.

Police do not believe the two groups knew each other.

Investigators have described the attack as a cowardly act that has left the community of Redcliffe devastated.

Several floral tributes have been left at the site of the stabbing.

Redcliffe State High School student Brayden Bissett said he was in Year 10 with Angus and shared a class with the teenager.

"It's a bit of a shock still — a lot of people are upset," he said.

"He was just the most fun person to be with — always energetic, always down to do stuff, just a really nice person.

"There's a lot of [social media] posts saying 'rest in peace Angus', 'we miss you' and stuff like that."

Police said they were looking for three men captured on CCTV fleeing the scene, two of whom were riding on bikes.

Detective Senior Sergeant Michael Hogan said the three suspected are believed to live locally.

"There are people in this community who will know the identity of the offenders," he said.

"Police are urging them to come forward and give that information to show some closure for the family.

"They are devastated, they've lost their 15-year-old son to a tragic attack."

Officers are asking anyone with information or dash cam footage to come forward.
