A teenage boy has been killed in a single vehicle crash in the Riverina district of NSW.

The 16-year-old, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.

Four others were injured in the accident at 12.30am Saturday on Edward Road, Mathoura, about 35km south of Deniliquin.

NSW Police said a Toyota dual cab utility, which was travelling east, left the road, rolled and crashed, killing the 16-year-old and injuring the four others.

Officers from the Murray River police district have established a crime scene and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
