A teenage boy who sustained life-threatening injuries when he was hit by a car in Adelaide's east earlier this month has died in hospital.
The 15-year old from Felixstow was struck by a Holden sedan when walking across Payneham Road, at Glynde, on April 13.
He was rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in critical condition and died on Wednesday.
South Australian Police confirmed the boy's death in a statement released on Thursday morning.
"Tragically, the boy died in hospital last night," it read.
The boy’s death is the 38th life lost on South Australian roads this year, compared to 37 at the same time last year.
The driver, a 25-year-old woman from Hectorville, was taken to Modbury Hospital with minor injuries.
It is not yet known if she will face any charges.
