Cops are probing the "sudden" death of a 16-year-old Scots boy in Glenrothes.
Emergency services raced to Barnton Place on Thursday after the sudden death of the teen the previous day.
An investigation has now been launched into the death and officers are treating it as "unexplained".
Inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident remain ongoing.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "On Thursday, June 17 police were made aware of the sudden death of a 16-year-old male in Barton Place, Glenrothes.
"The death occurred on Wednesday, June 16 2021 and police were informed the following day.
“The death is being treated as unexplained and a post mortem examination will be carried out in due course.
“Inquiries are ongoing.”
