A teenage boy has tragically died in the ongoing heatwave stifling the country after he went out into the sea.
The child, aged under 16, went out into the sea in Skegness around 6:15pm last night before emergency services were called.
He sadly died and his body was found a few hours later. Lincolnshire Police said: “A teenager has died after going into the sea in Skegness.
“Emergency services received a report that a child under 16 was in the water at around 6.15pm on Saturday 13 August.
“A search was carried out by police and coastguard and the boy’s body was recovered at around 11.30pm.”

The news comes as Britain suffers under sweltering conditions and braces through another bout of high temperatures.
Lincolnshire was, and remains as of today, under an amber heat warning as the country suffers its second heatwave in a matter of weeks.
Superintendent Lee Pache said: “We received a high volume of calls for missing people on the coast yesterday. At one point, within two hours, we received 10 calls.
“All of those who were reported missing, other than the child who sadly died, were located safe and well.
“Our thoughts are with the boy’s family.”
As the sun has shone Brits have flocked to beaches up and down the country but there were concerns that the extreme weather could lead to deaths.
The Amber weather warning was issued by the Met Office on Tuesday 9 August. In it, it warned: "More people are likely to visit coastal areas, lakes, rivers and other beauty spots leading to an increased risk of water safety and fire-related incidents."
