Teenage boy beaten and stabbed in 'unprovoked attack' while standing at bus stop

A teenage boy was brutally beaten and stabbed in an unprovoked attack while standing at a bus stop.

The victim was knifed while waiting for a bus on December 14.

He managed to escape the scene in Kingstanding, Birmingham, and return home where an ambulance was called for him, police said.

Birmingham Live reports that the blade missed the boy's vital organs and he was later discharged from hospital.

West Midlands Police released CCTV footage of three people that they are keen to speak to who they believe may have information about the attack.

Appealing for witnesses, a force spokesperson said: "Can you help us identify these three youths?

"We want to speak to them after a 17-year-old boy was stabbed at a bus stop on Ellerton Road at around 1.30pm.

"The boy was punched in the face and stabbed in the stomach in an unprovoked attack as he waited for a bus.

"He managed to get home where an ambulance was called and he was taken to hospital.

"Fortunately the blade missed vital organs and he has been discharged from hospital to recover at home."

Anyone with information is urged to call police on 101, quoting crime reference 20/1961092/21.

Alternatively, information can be given anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
