Teenage boy arrested after attempted armed robbery of shop in busy North Dublin village

A teenage boy has been arrested after an attempted robbery in North Dublin this afternoon.

Gardai rushed to the scene after the alarm was sounded at a shop on Jamestown Road in Finglas village.

No cash or items were taken by the allegedly-armed teen.

The suspect was apprehended on nearby Clancy Road.

Thankfully, Gardai also confirmed nobody was injured during the course of the incident.

Gardai told Dublin Live: "Gardai responded to reports of a robbery in a premises in Jamestown Road, Finglas North, Dublin 11 earlier this afternoon, January 3, 2021.

"No cash or items were taken from the premises and no persons were injured during this incident.

"One male aged in his teens has been arrested in relation to this incident and is currently detained in Finglas Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984."
