Teen wounded in Lawndale shooting

A teenage boy was shot May 22, 2020, in the 1800 block of South Avers Avenue in Lawndale. | Google Maps

A 17-year-old boy was shot Friday in Lawndale on the West Side.

He was on a sidewalk about 2:05 p.m. on South Avers Avenue when someone opened fire, striking him in the chest, Chicago police said.

The teen was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.

Area Four detectives are investigating.
