A teen was shot and wounded Tuesday evening in Austin on the West Side.
The 17-year-old was near an alley about 8 p.m. in the first block of South Parkside Avenue when he was struck in the leg by gunfire, Chicago police said.
He self-transported to West Suburban Hospital, where he was in good condition, police said.
Police reclassified the incident as a self-inflected shooting.
