Teen who's told she looks like Michael Jackson says she 'sees the funny side'

A teen has seen her selfie go viral on social media after the post was bombarded with Michael Jackson song titles as others pointed out her uncanny resemblance to the late pop star.

Lorun Elisabeth, a college student from Manchester, shared a snap on Twitter and seemingly preempted the reaction to follow by captioning it: "Blame it on the boogie."

The photo has been flooded with more than 6,000 comments and 109,000 likes as one user wrote: "Michael Jackson in heaven calling the police for identity theft..."

Lorun, 17, found the reaction to her photo hilarious and says she's the first to admit she looks a lot like the singer in some of her pictures.

She said she enjoyed reading some of the replies (Jam Press)

"My reaction to people saying this was always positive," she said. "I saw the funny side, I'm not one to ever be offended by something someone's said online about me really.

"I think it’s quite clear that in that picture I look a lot like Michael Jackson. So, I guess people just ran with it and now I’m known as the 'Michael Jackson girl'.

"So many people have been retweeting it with popular Michael Jackson lyrics, which I find hilarious.

"Ones such as 'I don’t have nothing to say so imma just beat it', that one made me laugh.

"I also have gotten so many nice comments in my Twitter DMs and Instagram DMs which was really nice."

However, not all the comments have been so light-hearted and Lorun hit back at people who have claimed she has undergone surgery to resemble MJ.

"I had one incident where I was a bit angry where I was posted on a site called Reddit on a post made by 'botched surgeries' where they claimed I'd had surgery to look like him, which is not the case," she said.

"This made me quite angry because some of the comments weren't the best. I later got the post deleted.

She added: "All in all, the post to me is so funny and it still makes me laugh.

"I can’t believe it blew up in all honesty and got as far as American Twitter. It’s been so funny seeing my face everywhere. I can’t escape it."
