Teen was chasing her dog when she fell from West Country cliff, inquest hears

A teenager was chasing after her dog when she fell to her death from a cliff top. Keeleigh Plant, 18, fell from the cliff at a West Country beach at around 3.20pm on May 19.

An inquest has heard how her dogs began to chase rabbits as she was walking with her partner in Devon. They were walking from Hope Cove in the South Hams towards Galmpton when one of the dogs did not come back when called.

As reported by Devon Live, Keeleigh then chased after it and tragically fell off the side. The coastguard rushed to the scene and provided medical assistance alongside members of the public but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Keeleigh, who was a student, was born in Plymouth and lived in Galmpton. A full inquest into her death will be held at a later date.

Coastguard Rescue Teams from Bigbury and Kingsbridge, an Independent Rescue Boat from Hope Cove and the Coastguard helicopter from Newquay were all sent to the scene. Paramedics from South Western Ambulance Service, and Devon and Cornwall Police were also in attendance.
