Teen travelling from Liverpool to Barrow stopped and cocaine seized

A 17 year old from Liverpool has been arrested on drugs offences after being stopped in transit between Liverpool and Barrow on Friday.

The Liverpool teenager was stopped and searched by Barrow Police and a quantity of crack cocaine was seized.

He was arrested for possession with intent to supply and has now been released under investigation.

Barrow Police released a statement on social media about the incident, which said: "On Friday [Barrow Proactive Team] stopped and searched a 17 year old travelling from Liverpool to Barrow.

"A quantity of Crack Cocaine was seized and he was arrested for PWITS [possession with intent to supply]

"He has been released under investigation pending a review of the case.

The police spokesperson also included a hashtag referring to County Lines.

County Lines is the transport of illegal drugs from one area to another, often although not exclusively across police and local authority boundaries.

The spokesperson added: "say not to drugs."

Commenting on the post on social media, on man congratulated the police on the arrest and said: "well done" while another agreed adding: "Brilliant work guys."
