Teen to be supervised after behaving aggressively towards two females

A teenager who behaved in an aggressive manner towards two females has been placed under supervision.

The 17-year-old, from Coatbridge, appeared at Airdrie Sheriff Court last month to face punishment for his actions, which took place in his home town on June 2.

He was in a house and adopted an aggressive manner towards the two girls, shouted and swore and threw some items belonging to one of them out of the property; he also broke mirrors.

The teenager’s defence solicitor said: “He’s got no previous convictions and pled guilty at the first opportunity.

“I think supervision as part of a community-based order will work well.”

Passing sentence on the youth, Sheriff Frank Pieri informed him: “What I have in mind is to place you under supervision for a period of eight months.

“If you breach this order, you’ll be brought back here and can be sentenced all over again.”
