A man was left with serious head injuries after being battered by a group of youths in an unprovoked attack.
The 47-year-old victim had been walking through Crosslee Park, near Houston Road, with his partner around 11.30pm when he was approached by the group of young thugs - whose ages are not currently known.
The group were not known to the man and his partner, and following a brief altercation, the violent teens pounced on the unsuspecting victim.
They proceeded to kick the man to the ground and set about him in a terrifying and violent attack - all while his horrified partner looked on.
The group repeatedly rained blows down on the man's head during the horror assault on Saturday night - leaving him with a severe head injury.
The youths - who were all male - then fled the scene along Houston Road and headed in the direction of Houston Primary School.
The victim was rushed to Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley for treatment to his injuries and was later released.

Inspector Damian Kane, of Renfrewshire’s community policing team said: "The victim had been walkingin the park with his partner when he was accosted by the group of youths who then kicked him to the ground and struck him repeatedly.
"Thankfully the man has been released from hospital and has not sustained life threatening injuries.
"We are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the incident and may have witnessed the assault to get in contact with police.
"I would also ask if there is any motorists or homeowners with possible dashcam or CCTV footage that could assist with our investigation to come forward and speak to officers.
