Teen sustains serious head injury during Dumbarton attack

A teenager sustained a serious head injury after being assaulted in Dumbarton.

The incident happened on Glasgow Road, close to Dumbarton East train station on Friday night when two boys (aged 15 and 16) were pounced upon.

Police confirmed one of the boys was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital to be treated for a serious head injury.

The suspects are described as males, wearing dark hoodies or jackets, one was wearing a navy blue Lacoste tracksuit, and all had masks on.

Detective Constable Susanne Church said: “We are appealing for the public’s help in tracing those responsible for this attack.

“A lady stepped in to help the boys and stopped the assault.

“We ask her, and anyone else who saw what happened, to contact us via 101 quoting incident 3869 of September 11.”
