Teen stabbed and man assaulted in separate attacks on same road in Co Cork

A teen was stabbed and another man was badly injured after a double attack in Bishopstown, Cork last night.

A teenager was rushed to Cork University Hospital with stab wounds after an assault on Curraheen Road around 10pm.

His condition is not believed to be life-threatening.

A second man, aged in his 20s, was badly injured in another assault incident on the same road a short time later.

Gardai are currently investigating and the road is sealed off for a technical examination.

A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí are investigating two assault incidents that occurred on the Curaheen Road, Co Cork on the 15th May 2019 between 10pm and midnight.

"A man in his 20s was brought to Cork University Hospital with minor injuries and has since been released.

"Another man in his late teens was brought to Cork University Hospital with an apparent stab wound. His condition is not believed to be life threatening.

"A scene is currently preserved for technical examination. Witnesses are asked to contact Togher Garda Station on 021-4947120."
