Teen slammed man onto the floor in Victoria Centre Boots

A teenager has been banned from a McDonald's restaurant and a Boots shop after "slamming" a man into the ground.

The bail conditions were imposed by city magistrates who dealt with Wisdom Oviame, 19, who admitted two charges.

Donna Fawcett, prosecuting, said he was with another person and they were following a man into the Boots branch in the intu Victoria Centre on Thursday.

"He comes up behind the man and knocks him to the floor.

"The defendant is then seen picking up the complainant and slamming him back onto the floor.

"Security staff were extremely worried that the man was seriously injured and that they were in danger of being injured," said Miss Fawcett.

Police were alerted and circulated the description of Oviame whose address was given as Brook Avenue, Arnold.

He was already linked to trouble in the McDonald's branch on Clumber Street on July 10.

On that day, he was inside the restaurant when a woman accused him of theft, said Miss Fawcett.

"The defendant said he would fly kick her to the face," added Miss Fawcett.

Richard Posner, mitigating, told the court: "He is a young man, only 19, who lives at home with his father. He has only one previous conviction."

The case was adjourned for sentence by magistrates on September 4. Oviame pleaded guilty to threatening words and behaviour on August 29 and threatening unlawful violence on July 10.

As well as being banned from the two business premises, he must not contact the woman from the McDonald's confrontation.
