
Two teenage girls were killed and their parents received burns when a fierce fire gutted their home in Nong Chok district, Bangkok, around dawn on Thursday morning.
Fire trucks and crews were rushed to the house at Suetong housing estate on Suwinthawong 29 in Nong Chok area immediately the fire was reported about 5.30am, Lam Pakchi police said.
The flames already had a good hold on the two-storey building when firefighters arrived. It took them 30 minutes to bring the blaze under control.
Two sisters, aged 16 and 13, were found dead inside the house. Their parents, Chachai Phopanit, 44, and his wife Kanyawee Sutthipong, 44, sustained burns to their arms and were rushed to a nearby hospital, Thai media reported.
There were four family members sleeping in the house when the fire broke out.
Police were investigating the cause.
