A stop sign with a bullet hole in it and a sticker that reads “Don’t Shoot. I want to grow up.” sits inside a crime scene where a teen boy was shot, Thursday night, in the 4400 block of West Maypole, in the West Garfield Park neighborhood.

A woman who identified herself as the 17-year-old’s aunt told a Sun-Times photographer at the scene the teen was riding home on his bike when he was shot.

Investigators don’t have any witnesses and don’t know the circumstances of the shooting, police said.

Area North detectives are investigating.
