A 17-year-old boy was wounded Sunday when he was shot in Englewood on the South Side.

He was walking on the sidewalk about 6:33 p.m. in the 6500 block of South Claremont Avenue when three males emerged from a gangway, Chicago police said. One of them fired shots, and they ran back down the gangway toward the alley.

The teen was struck in the knee, and his condition was stabilized at Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.

No arrests have been made, and Area Central detectives are investigating.
