Teen shot to death inside Altgeld Gardens home: police

A teenage boy was killed in a shooting Wednesday in Altgeld Gardens on the Far South Side.

The 17-year-old was shot in the upper abdomen at 12:31 p.m. inside a home in the 13200 block of South Corliss Avenue, according to Chicago police.

He was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not released details about the fatality.

Area South detectives are investigating.
