Teen sent tragic text to parents just hours before being found dead at friend's house

A teenager who died after a night out with friends sent a tragic last text to her parents just hours before her death.

Sinead Maguire died while staying at a friend's house after a night of partying with her mates on Valentine's Day.

The 18-year-old Liverpool fan reportedly suffered a massive heart attack in the early hours of the morning after she sent one last text to her parents.

Sinead's devastated mum, Sharon Curran, told the Liverpool ECHO that she contacted them at 4.30am to say she was "okay" and "safe".

At 10.30am, just six hours later, Sinead's friend called to say she wasn't breathing.

Sharon said: "She had texted us at 4.30 am to say she was back okay.

“Then we got a phone call about 10.30am from her friend to say she wasn’t breathing.”

The emergency services were called but Sharon was told her daughter “was in full cardiac arrest” and that paramedics were unable to get “any heart activity”.

Sharon said: “The hospital told us she had died of a massive heart attack.

“They have already done tests on her to say that it wasn’t drugs or anything like that.

“They don’t know if she had a congenital heart defect.”

When asked about her daughter, Sharon said: “She loved music and she loved going to concerts.

“She had so many tickets. She was due to see Harry Styles and the 1975.”

Hundreds of tributes have been paid to the die-hard Reds fan with many posting that the "beautiful girl" was "taken to soon".

On the ECHO's Facebook page, Jo Sanderson said: "A beautiful young lady taken far too soon, RIP Sinead fly high with the Angels xx"

Pauline Bennett added: "So sad what a loss of a beautiful girl thoughts and prayers are with the family YNWA xx"

Maureen Mooney also said: "God Bless beautiful young Lady and deepest sympathy to family and friends."

Sinead's friend Jamie has been trying to get in touch with Liverpool FC to see if they can acknowledge Sinead at an upcoming game at Anfield.

He said: “Whenever she was over in Liverpool she would go to Anfield.

“Anfield was her second home – the happiest place she’s ever been.

“A home away from home.”

Her mum added: "Sinead had visited Liverpool several times, and every time she came over she went to Anfield.

“She was planning to come over to Liverpool again. She was looking forward to seeing the new statue (of former manager Bob Paisley)."

Jamie Bell, 20, a good friend of Sinead’s from Dublin, said: “She loved Liverpool Football Club.”

“If she had any plans then she would change them to work around the [Liverpool] game. That’s what we really bonded over at first.”

Sharon and her family are still waiting for a full report from the coroner to find out the exact cause of her daughter’s death.
