Teen's scrambler bike confiscated and fake gun seized in police crackdown

A 14-year-old boy's scrambler bike was confiscated by officers after a police crackdown in Knowsley this weekend.

Officers attended a number of calls on Sunday, including recovering weapons.

The force were first called during the early hours of Friday morning, to Alder Avenue, in Huyton, at 3am, to reports of an assault.

A 34-year-old was arrested at the scene and an imitation gun was seized.

Officers said the imitation firearm was connected to the incident.

The force said parts of Stockbridge Village were also scoured as part of an open land search, after the community told police they were concerned about weapons and drugs being hidden.

Land near the rear of Poole Hey, Little Moss Hey and an area near Meadow Park School was searched.

Officers recovered knives and scissors that were shockingly concealed.

The force also said a teenager had his scrambler bike seized.

In a statement, police said: "Officers patrolling the area around Flukers Brook Lane yesterday have seized this off road motorbike.

"A 14-year-old Huyton male was stopped riding the bike after colleagues sighted the bike being illegally ridden from the area near to Boodecroft Woods.

"The rider will now be reported for a number of driving offences relating to the incident."

A car was then later confiscated by officers, after it failed to stop.

Police said: "Targeted officers patrolling the Huyton area last night have seized this Blue Skoda following an incident on Knowsley Lane.

"Officers attempted to speak to the occupants of the vehicle which failed to stop.

"The vehicle was located abandoned on Radway Road a short time later. Officers subsequently seized the car as part of the investigation which is ongoing at this time."
