A teenager will have his books read around the world after winning a charitable award.
Khan Odita, 14, is a young ambassador for the Liverpool Heartbeat charity and also set up Mulgrave Street Action Group CIC (MSAG) during his 2021 summer holidays.
In February Khan, from Toxteth, was announced as the overall winner of the Young Ambassadors Competition for Lions Clubs International, British Isles, and will now compete in the European Finals held in Croatia in October 2022.
The Lions Club supports young people who are actively involved in helping others and Khan is very much an active citizen helping others.

Khan recently became an author publishing his first book “My Friend Who Didn’t Speak”.
Now in the process of publishing his 2nd book, “I Don’t Like the Night”, he hopes the themes covered will support children with the effects of bullying, being different and sharing problems and fears.
Book sales support MSAG to deliver further projects for the community.
Khan's winning initiative, for the Lions Club, was using his books to deliver literacy packages to schools in Liverpool, and across the globe, to help tackle some of the issues children face and inspire more young writers.

Khan told the ECHO: "Lions will be sponsoring my winning initiative, which will see my books and primary school literacy packages delivered to schools across the globe.
"I just wanted to write a book."
Lions Club President Ian Francis said: “Khan is a phenomenal young man who selflessly dedicates his time to supporting others and making a difference in their lives.
"He is a true advocate for young people”.
Robin Baines MBE, Founder of Liverpool Heartbeat and Liverpool Lions said, “This is a massive achievement. He's made a remarkable impact for his community and with this award, will continue to do so on a global scale”.
Khan said: “I’m overwhelmed with the news. I genuinely just wanted to do a good deed, but knowing this work will touch the lives of many children across the world, is hard for me to grasp”.
Liverpool City Region recognised Khan, where he was a finalist at the LCR Culture and Creativity Awards 2021 in the student inspiration category, taking place on March 2.
During Khan's journey with the Lions he’s been involved in fundraising activities, collecting toys over Christmas and representing views of young people in planning charitable events.
Mum, Natasha said: "Khan has always had a keen interest in law, social justice and supporting others.
"As a single parent our lives are pretty hectic, but I always prioritise and support Khan in his charitable activities and community work.
"It's refreshing and rewarding to see his passion, determination and leadership skills develop.
"I certainly learn a lot from him and he inspires me on a daily basis.
"We never anticipated he would achieve such a remarkable accomplishment.
“It's an amazing surprise and I am overwhelmed and proud of him".
