Teen rushed to hospital following 'stabbing' in north Manchester - another youth arrested

A teenage boy was taken to hospital after being 'stabbed' in north Manchester tonight (September 25).

Emergency services were called to Moston shortly after 5pm following reports of a 'disturbance'.

On arriving at an area close to Lightbowne Road, officers discovered a 17-year-old boy had been assaulted.

There was a large cordon in place following the incident - which shut of several streets.

A 'bladed article' was used during the assault officers later confirmed to the MEN..

The boy was taken to hospital however his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, according to Greater Manchester Police.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of assault in connection with the incident.

He has since been released on bail pending further enquiries, police said.

A stretch of Lightbowne Road was taped off near the McColl's convenience store.

There were also cordons in place on neighbouring Joan Street and Oscar Street
