Teen rushed to hospital after being knocked by car down on Scots road

A teenager has been rushed to hospital after she was knocked down on a Scots road.

Emergency services scrambled to the scene after the girl was hit by a car outside Leo's Pizzeria on Hamilton Road in Bellshill at around 7.35pm on Wednesday April 21.

Ambulance crews attended and took the youngster to Wishaw Hospital for treatment.

The severity of her injuries and her condition are not known at this time.

The driver of the car was uninjured.

Police say their enquires into the accident are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 7.35pm on Wednesday, 21 April, officers were called to Hamilton Road, Bellshill, following a report of a road crash involving a car and a pedestrian.

"The teenage girl has been taken to Wishaw Hospital for treatment and the driver of the car was uninjured.

"Enquiries into the circumstances remain ongoing."
