Teen rushed to hospital after assault prompts closure of Glasgow train station

A teenage boy was taken to hospital following an incident which prompted a temporary closure of Anniesland station.

Police were called to the station in the west of Glasgow around 4pm on Friday (May 7) after receiving reports of an assault.

Trains were unable to call at the station for a period of time while officers attended the scene alongside ambulance crews. One of the platforms was taped off by police while they conducted their investigations into the incident.

Police have since confirmed that a teenager was taken to hospital for treatment. He was discharged later that evening.

No arrests have been made with enquiries ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
