Teen rushed to hospital after '300kg timber fell on him' in workplace accident

A teenager has been rushed to hospital after a heavy stack of timber fell on him in a workplace accident.

The 19-year-old was injured as the pile of MDF fell on him in Bankstown, Sydney, SafeWork NSW confirmed.

It is understood that the stack that fell onto the male worker - who has not been named - may have weighed up to 300kg, 9 news reports.

He is believed to be in hospital in a serious condition with head injuries after the accident this morning.

The incident is being investigated and inspectors are attending the site.

Police also reportedly remain at the his workplace.

A statement by SafeWork NSW said: "SafeWork NSW is investigating after a 19-year-old male was injured following an incident at a workplace in Bankstown this morning.

"SafeWork inspectors are attending the site and the investigation is ongoing."
