Teen 'refusing to speak to police' after being slashed outside chicken shop

A teenager is refusing to speak with police after being slashed in the street outside a chicken shop.

Officers from Merseyside Police were called out to Walton Vale this evening after an incident occurred close to Ranchers Chicken.

The Force Incident Manager confirmed a 17-year-old man sustained a slash wound to his arm.

Officers were alerted about the incident at 6.15pm on Wednesday, April 7, and remain at the scene with part of the pavement cordoned off.

His injuries are understood to not be life threatening and it is unclear at this stage whether he was taken to hospital for treatment.

The teenager is understood to have refused to cooperate with police.

Photos taken at the scene show part of the street cordoned off with police tape. A number of emergency services vehicles can be seen parked around the cordon.
