Teen rape accused face more charges

Two senior Canberra school students are facing new charges in relation to allegations they had sex with a 16-year-old girl without her consent.

The two students - who are both 18 years old - are accused of sexually assaulting the teenager while she was severely affected by cannabis.

It is alleged that they drove the girl to a house then forced her to have sex with them.

A statement of facts tendered to the ACT Magistrates Court says after the incident, one of the men said to the girl, "we are not going to tell anyone about this, are we?"

It is also alleged the girl later received a text message from another person saying they had seen a video of the incident.

Yesterday in the ACT Magistrates Court the men each faced a new charge of using a child for the production of child pornography.

Editor's note (30/8/2019): Both men were found not guilty of raping the 16-year-old girl by an ACT Supreme Court jury in November 2011.
