Teen Mom's Ryan Edwards JAILED for one year after DUI & drug arrest

Teen Mom star Ryan Edwards is facing almost a year in prison after being sentenced in court for drug possession, driving under the influence and other charges.

The incident occurred after he is said to have overdosed following a stint in rehab.

The 35-year-old appeared in Hamilton County Court on Thursday in front of Judge Gary Starnes.

It comes after he had been held in jail with no bond available since his arrest on April 7.

He is said to have attended court wearing an orange jumpsuit and in handcuffs.

According to The Sun, Ryan spoke to the judge regarding the two new possession of a controlled substance and DUI charges.

He also reportedly answered two previous two harassment and possession of controlled substance charges.

The publication said his attorney admitted his client had violated his probation, with a lawyer for the state then commenting: "It appears Mr. Edwards would've violated probation by leaving treatment early.

"Mr. Edwards picked up two new criminal charges. For the court, given part of the probation violation is these new charges, he's conceding the violation."

The judge is then claimed to have responded: "He was supposed to be in Austin, Texas. He was admitted March 16 and was discharged April 3."

Ryan's lawyer reportedly argued about his client's drug addiction before saying "there is a good person deep inside there wanting to get out".

The judge is said to have called Ryan an "extreme danger to himself" before claiming a rehab sentence wouldn't work as he wouldn't follow through with it.

The judge reportedly continued: "I'm going to revoke probation for 11 months and 29 days in custody.

"At some point, I may send you to rehab. You won't do it now. It's because the drug addiction is so strong. You can't do it. You have to grow up and want to save yourself.

"I'm going to do what I can to save you. If you come across someone at drugs at Silverdale stay away from them."

Reports suggest Ryan's parents were in attendance for the sentencing.
