A 19-year-old woman was mauled to death by a pack of dogs in a savage attack that left her with bite wounds all over her body.
Adrieanna O'shea, from Maryville, Tennessee, US, was pounced on when she visited a home to collect her purse.
The canines tore off her clothes and chased after her as she tried to escape by jumping over a small fence.
The animals belonged to a married couple who live adjacent to the property that Ms O'shea was visiting.
One of the owners told police 'the dogs were doing their jobs', according to Mail Online .
A witness reportedly said they saw Ms O'shea, who was found covered in blood and debris, being thrown into the air and pulled towards a wooded area.
The victim apparently screamed 'help me' after she was targeted by the animals.
The dogs involved were a mastiff, a Rottweiler-lab mix, a pitbull and two mastiff-lab mixes.
An officer shot a mastiff-lab mix after it charged at him at the scene, with the other four dogs being taken to an animal centre.
Their owners said the dogs were put down, reports state.
The victim's aunt, Darlene Schultz-Scott, shared her grief in a message posted on Facebook on August 30.
She said: "It's hard to believe you're gone Adrieanna .
"I am so proud of you for fighting so hard, and I know you were just too tired to keep fighting!
"I will never forget your beautiful face, corky sense of humor, and full of so much energy!!
"You are my birthday twin. And forever I will be wishing you a happy birthday in heaven!! I love you so much! Fly high sweetheart, you're at peace now!"
