Teen left with serious injuries in horror early morning road smash

A teenager has been arrested and another left in hospital with serious injuries after a car ploughed through a roundabout wall in an early hours collision.

Police were called to the road smash at around 3.25am on Wednesday, September 29, following the report of a car colliding with a wall on Causewayhead Road, Stirling, in the shadow of the Wallace Monument.

Residents were given a rude awakening as a result of the crash.

Police were quickly on the scene and some time after the incident a removal vehicle was on scene taking the badly damaged car, which appeared to have shed its boot door, away from the area.

Following the incident, a 19-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment to what police describe as "serious but non-life threatening injuries".

A police Scotland spokesperson said: "A second 19-year-old man and driver of the vehicle was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

"The driver was arrested in connection with road traffic offences and enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash are ongoing."
