Teen left with serious facial injury following weapon attack

A teenage boy was left with a serious facial injury after being attacked with a weapon in Linwood.

The 15-year-old was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow following the violent incident on Saturday night.

The teen had got involved in an altercation with another youth around 9.25pm in Middleton Road when he was assaulted with a weapon.

He remains in hospital where police have confirmed he is in a stable condition.

Detectives in Paisley are now appealing for assistance from the public to help trace the suspect.

He is described as being around 15 to 17-years-old, around 5ft 7in in height, with brown/light ginger hair and spoke with a local accent.

He was wearing a black t-shirt and red shorts.

Detective Constable Robert Urquhart, from Paisley CID, said: "This incident saw a teenager sustain a serious facial injury and it is vital we trace the individual responsible.

"Extensive enquiries are ongoing and I am appealing for anyone with any information which may assist us to get in touch.

"I would also ask anyone who was in the area at the time and may have dashcam footage to contact us."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident 3605 of Saturday, 9 April, 2022.
