A 17-year-old boy was killed when his motorcycle crashed into a sedan Thursday in suburban Skokie.

Authorities responded about 9:45 a.m. for reports of a collision between two vehicles in the 3500 block of Howard Street, Skokie police said in a statement.

According to preliminary information, a 17-year-old boy was eastbound on Howard on a motorcycle when a sedan pulled out of a parking lot and into his path, police said.

The teen was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, where he was later pronounced dead, police said.

The driver of the sedan, a 65-year-old man, was taken to Skokie Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Skokie police and the North Regional Task Force Major Crash Assistance Team are investigating.
