Teen killed in NT community unrest

A teenager has been killed and three men hurt during unrest at Yirrkala in the Northern Territory. (AAP)

A teenager has died after being stabbed during an incident involving up to 100 people at Yirrkala in the Northern Territory.

Police attended the East Arnhem region town at about 2.40pm on Wednesday after reports of community unrest involving 50 to 100 people.

The 17-year-old male had been stabbed and three men aged 18, 40 and 45 were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening stab wounds, police said.

Additional police resources have been sent to Yirrkala to investigate and crime scenes have been established. Anyone with information about the incident have been urged to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
