A 17-year-old boy was killed in a shooting Tuesday in suburban Joliet.
Officers responded about 12:47 p.m. to the 600 block of Jackson Street for a report of shots fired, Joliet police said.
As they investigated, a call came in from St. Joseph Medical Center, stating a teen was in their emergency room with gunshot wounds, police said.
Abraham Vertiz, of Joliet, died from his injuries, police said.
