A teenage boy was stabbed to death Thursday during a drug deal gone bad in Irving Park on the Northwest Side, police said.

About 3:15 p.m., the attacker grabbed a knife out of a backpack during a drug deal on West Irving Park Road and stabbed the boy in the chest, Chicago police said.

The boy, 16, was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office hasn’t released details on the death.

No one is in custody as Area Five detectives investigate.
