A teen has been left with serious injuries following a horror road crash in Ayrshire.
Police were called to Minishant in South Ayrshire around 7.35am this morning after a crash between a Vauxhall Vectra and a blue Ford Kuga on the B7045 at the junction with the B742.
A 19-year-old male driver of the Vauxhall sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock.
However, he was later taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment.
Police say the 35-year-old male driver of the Ford was uninjured.
The road was closed for around seven and a half hours while investigations were carried out at the scene.
Sergeant Craig Beaver of Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit said: “Our enquiries to establish the full circumstances which led to this crash are ongoing and I would urge anyone who may have information to get in touch.
“We would be keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or may have dashcam footage from around the time of the crash on Wednesday morning.
