Teen in hospital seriously hurt after attack and robbery as police seal off area in Glasgow

A teenager has been left seriously hurt after he was attacked and robbed in Glasgow.

Cops raced to the scene in the Townhead area of the city after the alarm was raised at around 12:15pm today, July 4.

A 17-year-old has been left with serious injuries after being assaulted and robbed.

He was rushed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary but is not thought to have life-threatening injuries.

An area on St Mungo Avenue has been sealed off this afternoon as police remain at the scene.

A probe has been launched and anyone with information has been ured to come forward.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police were called to a report of assault and robbery of a 17-year-old male on St Mungo Avenue in Glasgow around 12.15pm on Sunday, 4 July, 2021.

“The 17-year-old has been taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary with serious but not life-threatening injuries. Officers remain at the scene and enquiries are ongoing.

“Anyone with information about the incident should call police via 101, quoting incident 1629 of 4 July.”
