Teen in court on murder rap after man dies in Dalry street on Saturday night

A teenager has appeared in court charged with murdering a 25-year-old man.

Daniel Brown, 19, made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody after he appeared in private at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court.

The victim, named locally as Daryl Nimmo, was discovered fatally injured in a street in Dalry, Ayrshire, on Saturday night.

Daryl, who is thought to be from New Cumnock , died at the scene despite efforts of paramedics.

Police immediately cordoned off Townend Street following the incident shortly after 9pm.

They said a 19-year-old man had been arrested and charged in connection with the death.

A police spokeswoman said: “At 9.25pm on Saturday, police were called to a report of a 25-year-old man having been seriously injured in Townend Street, Dalry.

“Emergency services attended, however the man died at the scene.

“A 19-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death.”
