Teen held over allegations he made homophobic comment to cop near Paisley hotel

A teenager has been held behind bars in connection with a hate crime close to a hotel early today.

The 19-year-old was also allegedly found with drugs and a knife.

It happened outside the Watermill Hotel, at Lonend in Paisley, around 1.45am. Police were called in and found three people.

The 19-year-old allegedly made homophobic comments to a female police officer while he was being arrested.

He was held in custody for an appearance at Paisley Sheriff Court.
