Teen girl rushed to hospital after being hit by van as cops launch witness appeal

A teen girl was fighting for her life after she was hit by a van.

The 14-year-old girl was seriously injured as she walked along Lundavra Road, Fort William at 6.15pm on Tuesday, October 13.

She was taken to the town’s Belford Hospital before being transferred to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow where her condition is described as stable.

The 47-year-old male driver of the white Citroen van was uninjured.

Sergeant Ewan Calder, of the Road Policing Unit in Fort William, said: “We are working to establish the full circumstances of this incident and would urge anyone with information who hasn’t already spoken to an officer to get in touch.

“We would be particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have private CCTV or dashcam footage of the incident.”
