Teen girl rushed to hospital after being attacked by man at Scots reservoir

A teenage girl was rushed to hospital after being assaulted by a man in a terrifying attack at a Scots beauty spot at the weekend.

The 17-year-old was attacked by a man at Barcraigs Reservoir, near Johnstone, around 8pm on Saturday August 7.

She was rushed to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley for treatment for a facial injury and was later released.

The suspect is described as being around 30-years-old, bald and of heavy build.

He was wearing a red Lacoste baseball cap and red shorts and was with two other men.

They also had fishing equipment with them.

Police are urgently trying to trace to attacker and have urged anyone with information to get in touch.

Detective Constable Laura Sokolov, of Paisley CID, said: “This was a frightening experience for the girl involved and we are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the incident who witnessed the assault or to anyone who may recognise the description of the male to contact police via 101 and quoting incident number 3704 of Saturday 24th July 2021.”

Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111 where you can give information anonymously.
