17-year-old girl charged with stabbing woman at CTA Red Line station in Loop

A 17-year-old girl was charged with stabbing a woman in her face at the CTA Red Line station in the Loop Thursday night.

A woman began arguing with the teen at the Red Line station in the 200 block of South State Street around 9:20 p.m. when the girl stabbed her in the face and boarded a train, Chicago police said.

The woman, 30, was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in fair condition, police said.

The teen was taken into custody in the 800 block of North State Street.

She faces a felony count of aggravated battery as a juvenile, police said.
