A 15-year-old girl has been charged over the stabbing of another teen at a school in NSW's Central West.

Police were called to the Canobolas Rural Technology High School in Orange on Monday after a 16-year-old girl was stabbed in the chest and arm.

She was treated by paramedics before being taken to Orange Health Service for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.

The 15-year-old has been charged with reckless wounding. She was refused bail and will appear before a children's court on Tuesday.
