A teenage girl who was killed in a horror crash that saw two others seriously injured has been named locally.
The 17-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene after the collision at R154, Pelletstown in Drumree, Co Meath.
A man in his 20s was taken to Beaumont Hospital where he is in a serious condition and a boy in his late teens was rushed to Connolly Hospital with non-life threatening injuries after the crash just before 5pm on Thursday.
Local tributes have been pouring in for tragic Katelyn with friends and family posting heartbreaking memories online of the young girl.
One pal said: "So so so sorry to the family. Fly high Katelyn, rest in peace angel. Condolences to all her dear ones."
Another said: "Fly high Katelyn. Look over your family and friends forever. We'll miss you forever and make you forever proud."
A third said: "My heart breaks tonight for yet another family member. A beautiful young girl taken way too soon. You just never know what’s around the corner, life is so so precious. RIP Katelyn."
A garda spokesman said: "The road is currently closed to allow Garda Forensic Collision Investigators to examine the scene. Local diversions are in place.
"Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward. They are particularly appealing to any road users who were travelling on this road at the time with camera footage (including dash-cam) to make this available to them.
